So this has been a pretty shitty week, huh? Convenient that I had a whole comic about retaining the hope to fight against impressive (and oppressive) forces already scripted. I hope you all make it through the difficult times to come, and want you to know that I will stand with you in whatever way I can. We may not have superpowers, but that doesn’t mean we have to succumb to the malevolent Nazis in real life. (MAN I wish that were a euphemism)

The barrel-of-monkeys-Rang thrown by MM smacked the Nazi super-gun out of his hand while cutting his palm, in case that’s not clear. I couldn’t get a speed effect to look quite right.

Oh my god I have been doing this for a whole year now. A year.

Three panels, and more characters drawn than any previous comic. Ugh.

Bald Eagle (they did not coordinate). Tiny Man Quark. The Cold Warrior. Purple…Sorceress, sure why not. And Sergeant States!

I don’t even have an excuse for skipping last week. I procrastinated, mostly by reading stupid horror stories on the internet. But hey, my first comic of the New Year! Yaaaaaaaay!

If you’ve payed any attention to this comic you should’ve figured that that guy would have shown up right after a comment like “He While E. Coyote’d me!”

This comic was delayed for a number of very legitimate reasons, including, but not limited to: the Holiday season, starting a new job, back pain, and Girls With Slingshots.

I’ve simplified how I draw Arachne/Nancy’s hair in several of these panels (not that you can really tell with how dark it is). I originally intended her dreads to look spidery and it did not occur to me how freaking hard it would be to draw that every single time.

Cityscape in trick mural unabashedly (and badly) traced from this page of Strong Female Protagonist, otherwise known as the Tuesday-Friday Superhero webcomic much much much better than mine.

If you’ve ever met an artist who claims to have never swung around a T square as though it were a weapon, you have met a dirty goddamn liar. Yeah, her power is that badass. Been looking forward to this strip for a while. Took more layers than usual but I like how it turned out.

And for those skeptics out there, yes that giant goddamn bird actually existed! And you should all thank your respective deities that that’s in the past tense.

We’re gonna get into a couple actual plot points shortly after this ([EDIT]: but not Tuesday 11/8, sorry, schoolwork. Check again Friday). I just like introducing lots and lots of awesome characters.

Some spooky heroes just in time for Halloween! Yes, Necroma, despite the her name and appearance is a good guy. Her powers will be explained over the next few weeks. And Arachne we pretty much know already.

Gonna be honest, I’ve been waiting to draw someone leaning over a gargoyle the entire time I’ve been writing this comic.
