Liked that first panel so much I used it twice. This one was a lot of fun, actually. One of those ones I’ve been planning forever, more of which should show up over this and the coming arcs.
Meanwhile, please vote!
My Writing and Thoughts on Science Fiction, Fantasy, and the Inhuman Condition
No color for now, not unlike the first trailer. (played-out-joke-heyoo!) Colored version to come later today. [UPDATE]: Color at last! More blue than I really realized going into this.
So hey, theres a Justice League movie now! It’s supposed to be just okay! Hooraaaaaaay!
I’m definitely gonna see it.
Make with the voting now, please. For JUSTICE!!!
[[UPDATE]]! Sorry the Hiatus is taking so much longer than expected, but how ’bout a nice Valentine’s Day voting incentive to get your blood pumping!? A new Comic will go up on Friday for Black Panther, and after that regular updates should start again. In the meantime, here’s two of your favorite characters in a moment of tender intimacy! Just click the button below!
And that’s the end of the Nazi Arc. It took WAY too long. Sorry this page is late, and I’m very sorry the next one is going to be VERY late.
I’m taking a couple weeks off. I will put up a Justice League page next week, of course, but just so I can get so I don’t always feel like I’m being chased by the deadline. The story will continue then, probably with something a little more lighthearted than Nazi Mechas. Like, Communist Magical Girls.
In the meantime, please tell as many of your friends and acquaintances as possible about Kong Tower, and have a vote on TWC with the link below. Probably in the Interim I’ll update the incentive once or twice, just to have something to do.
My God could it be?! A comic with only minimal copy-pasting!! Call the presses!
So this has been a pretty shitty week, huh? Convenient that I had a whole comic about retaining the hope to fight against impressive (and oppressive) forces already scripted. I hope you all make it through the difficult times to come, and want you to know that I will stand with you in whatever way I can. We may not have superpowers, but that doesn’t mean we have to succumb to the malevolent Nazis in real life. (MAN I wish that were a euphemism)
The barrel-of-monkeys-Rang thrown by MM smacked the Nazi super-gun out of his hand while cutting his palm, in case that’s not clear. I couldn’t get a speed effect to look quite right.
Vote for Kong Tower to see comic #32: Do Me a Favor: Tell the Audience About Me colorized.
This may be the closest I’ll ever get to writing a Two Gamers on a Couch comic.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is out today! Yaaaaaaay! From what I’ve read as of yesterday, the fans love it and the critics aren’t so fond, but I look forward to seeing it for myself.
I’ve added a new character so I have parodies of all of DC’s Trinity in the film. You may have noticed her silhouette in the new banner. She’s something of a two-part parody, first, naturally, of Wonder Woman. But, since I’m not likely to be better than that other webcomic parody of Wonder Woman, I’ve also made her a parody of the general trend in many comics of drawing women with utterly outlandish physical proportions; specifically the art of the infamous Rob Liefeld. If you’re not familiar with the art of Rob Liefeld, click this link to have your spiritual innocence violated.
You can still see a colored version of Kong Tower #1 by voting for Kong Tower on Top Web Comics:
My first days late comic. I guess it’s something every webcomic artist has to go through, especially early on. Oh well.
It took me literally until the very last stages of making this to realize his helmet is drawn wrong in the last Panel. Oops.
I had some trouble coming up with a title for this one and eventually settled on a bastardized version of one of the title character’s first lines from the ’89 Batman movie: “I want you to do me a favor: I want you to tell all your friends about me.” It’s a stretch, I know.
I know people with OCD don’t usually have the compulsion of Narrating, but honestly in my limited knowledge of mental disorders I couldn’t think of one that fit better. Tell me in the comments if there’s something better I could use. If this part of the comic offends you, I would like to direct you to this comic of a few months ago to demonstrate how little I probably care.
Vote for Kong Tower or Emmerson will get very anxious.
This one’s out late unfortunately. I was hoping to get further into this before I started slipping.
But anyway, Here you go! Monkey Man! The secret identity of that guy on the right in the first two comics who was named as Sunny Wu, owner of Kong Tower (Classical Chinese Literature fans will get that joke) only twenty four comics later. Yes, he wears Utility Suspenders, and his chin is entirely shielded while his neck and jawline is exposed. And yes, his chest insignia (and thematic throwing star-boomerang things) are meant to look like Monkeys in a Barrel. You remember those? They were fun in a the-internet-isn’t-practical-yet kinda way.
Of course, if you Voted for Kong Tower you’d have known who he was weeks ago, and you’d especially have known if you’d voted every single day like you totally can and isn’t that awesome! Even now, by doing so, you can see a huge, full-color image of Monkey Man in all his Simian Glory!
Just one more week until you can find out the mysterious secret identity of mogul Sunny Wu! (unless I fall behind schedule. Which is distinctly possible.) If you just can’t wait that long, darn it, just Vote for Kong Tower on Top Web Comics to see a huge, fully-colored image of the superhero in question in all his glory!
In case you couldn’t guess (due likely to the lack of much evidence), Sunny Wu is the guy sitting on the right in the first two comics.
What is this mysterious figure’s persona? It will be revealed over the course of the next few weeks, but you can find out right now by Voting for Kong Tower on Top Web Comics. It’s free, and you can do it every day!
